Introducing dollsbearsandbunnies! 

We discovered dollsbearsandbunnies at Chatsworth Road, Rushmore School Sunday Market. It was an instance love at first sight! These beautiful handmade dolls have been created by a mum of 3! Ula who has a very devoted husbands, Robert that runs her stall for her. Her inspiration of hand making soft toys grow from having the first two girls, Victoria and Emilia, her youngest is a boy Szymon. She wanted her kids to have something special and unique and that it can be treasured for a long time in both physical form and timeless memories of play. She re-encountered her childhood memories and remembers that these dolls were her friends. So she started making these for her friends and family. She had great comments and decided to start her own dollsbearsandbunnies in September 2012.

All dolls are delicately handmade here in Hackney! Some are made from vintage fabrics and some are from off-cuts given by a friend's upholstery shop, (recycle ~ we like!) All dolls fillings are polyester fillings safety checked for soft toys. Every dolls come with its own box and colour tissues papers. Price ranges from £12 - £25 depending on the size and how much delicate works have been put into. Each dolls takes at least about 2 hours, some even 5 hours! So you can understand why would make such a unique and an impressive gifts for your love ones for all occasions!

 Party Baby (aka the nappy wrap store) was introduced to supply us with a two part system nappy. 

One is the use of wraps as many customers prefers pre-folds, or inserts soakers/ boosters/ liners as their base nappy. Their high quality handmade wrap is an idea nappy when pre-fold can be bucketed in after used, but their wrap can be wiped dry and reuse again and again. 

Second is the fleece cover, use as a nappy cover, again there has been an increase awareness that many customers prefers using these rather than using nappies that consists of PUL materials. There is something to do with the temperature in the air and humidity that makes them work and dry fast like magic! Fleece is waterproof and yet breathable allowing the air to circulate and allowing moisture to evaporate. Fleece soakers can also help to reduce nappy rash because of the breathability qualities, whereas a PUL wrap contains wetness inside fleece allows it to evaporate, customers who have used fleece soakers over their babies nappies have told Part Baby that the nappy in the morning is much dryer than it is in a PUL wrap. However, with fleece soakers though they are not suitable for sitting for long periods such as in the car or pram on a long journey somewhere, as the compression from bottom to nappy can squeeze wetness out like a sponge. In conclusion to this, GreenPomelo would recommend using fleece cover to anyone who are practising E.C.'ing with their little ones would be a good choice to go about it.

Last week, I meet up with wonderful Roso. She is a professional artist who does portrait drawings and paintings of kids. I did not know what to expect at first, but once we started chatting and meet her little beautiful Uxua, I realised that she is indeed something very special. I say not just a Hackney mum, her works have been in many exhibitions in Italy (mainly in and around Catania, her home town, and Palermo), and is currently in the process of producing a painting for her friend's children, breastfeeding! Yes, you heard me. Again I repeat, breastfeeding! Her favourites medium are charcoals, watercolours, acrylics and oils. Here she shows me a mesmerising oil painting of her beautiful Uxua. Not to be cliché, but I think her painting speaks louder than words!
